Ancient Hawaiian Fishpond & Garden Tour - Kualoa Ranch

  A guided tour through Moli`i Gardens gives visitors a chance to get a view of Hawaiian agriculture past and present. An interactive tour through the gardens takes visitors through groves of fruit trees, where you can even pick and taste whatever is in season. Byodo-In Temple

• Description
  The Byodo-In Temple situated at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park was established on June 7, 1968 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. The Byodo-In is a replica of the 950 year-old Buddhist temple in Japan, which was converted from a villa in the year 1053. The Byodo-In Temple translates to 'Temple of equality - not to discriminate' and is home to Amida, a golden Buddha, towering more than 18 feet. Walk through the garden surrounding the temple, believed to be the largest ever built outside of Japan. Diamond Head Crater Hike (with Shuttle Service)

  The most famous volcanic crater in the world is Mt. Leahi, better known as Diamond Head, and is located along the southeast coast of Oahu, at the end of Waikiki. In the early 1800s, British sailors mistakenly thought the calcite crystals in the lava rocks they saw glimmering from a distance were diamonds, hence the name. Diamond Head is a volcano that has been extinct for 150,000 years. The crater is 3,520 in diameter with a 760 foot summit. The hike led by Kaimana Tours is considered easy to moderate in exertion. Hawaiian Oceans Outrigger Canoe Ride

• Description
  Enjoy an outrigger canoe ride surfing the waves off the shores of Waikiki Beach with Diamond Head on one side. Ancient Hawaiians used canoes for fishing and travelling between islands. In present day Hawaii, some canoes are still used for recreational interisland travels but mainly for competition racing. Meet under the hau trees shading the Hawaiian Ocean's Waikiki beach stand near the Duke Kahanamoku statue. The canoe captain will instruct you on how to paddle a canoe which was once used for competitive racing. You will be assigned and positioned to specific seats on the canoe to maximize your fun and pleasure on the water. The fun begins once you leave shore.   Surf the famous waves of Waikiki Beach, once the playground of the legendary Duke Kahanamoku and Hawaiian royalty. When not surfing, the Duke and his friends would gather under a hau tree to entertain tourists. This was the beginning of the famous 'Beach Boys of Waikiki.' Hawaiian Oceans' modern day beach boys teach your surf lesson. All of the instructors are licensed by the State of Hawaii and have American Red Cross CPR, first aid and Lifesaving Certifications. Lessons are customized for first timers of all ages to the more advanced surfer, and are at least one hour in length. Lessons begin on the white sands of Waikiki under the Hau tree at the surf stand, Hawaiian Ocean's Waikiki, where basics on paddling, turning, and positioning oneself on the surfboard are taught. Hawaii's Plantation Village

Honolulu Academy of Arts

Iolani Palace

• Description
  A designated national historic landmark and the only official state residence of royalty in the United States, Iolani Palace was home to the Hawaiian Kingdom's last two monarchs: King Kalakaua, who built the Palace in 1882, and his sister and successor, Queen Liliuokalani. During the monarchy period, Iolani Palace was the center of social and political activity in the Kingdom of Hawaii. Jungle Tour - Kualoa Ranch

• Description
  Explore remote and rugged Hakipu`u Valley in a Swiss Pinzgauer Jeep. Hakipu`u, once owned by Queen Kalama is preserved and protected from development and is one of the 3 Ahupua`a owned by Kualoa (ancient self-sufficient land divisions from the mountain to the sea). The property is partially maintained by Kualoa's Stewardship Dept. under a federal Fish & Wildlife grant and is home to many native Hala, Ohi`a, Koa and Kukui trees as well as the Cyanea Truncata-a species that was thought to be extinct until it was found on top of the mountain. Once inhabited by the Kahuna class of Hawaiian society who served as advisors to Royalty that lived at Kualoa,the acreage include a lush valley, natural streams and mountains with beautiful ocean views of the ancient fishpond and Chinaman's Hat. The narrated tour takes you to a restored lo`i (Hawaiian taro patch planted along natural springs) and ends with an optional short hike to the top of the ridge with incredible views.

Pacific Aviation Museum

After this very moving experience, it's off on a fully narrated tour of the highlights of the city. You'll visit Punchbowl Crater, home of the National Cemetery of the Pacific and into the downtown area for a look at the State Capital and Washington Place, former home to Hawaiian Royalty and Hawaii's Governors. A stop at the state landmark, the King Kamehameha Statue, will be made, allowing for photo opportunities. View the only royal palace on American soil - Iolani Palace; Kawaiahao Church - where services are still held in the native Hawaiian language; and the Mission Houses. Secret Island Beach - Kualoa Ranch

  Secret Island is a secluded beach with sweeping views of Kaneohe Bay and a Mokolii Island (Chinaman's Hat). Guests can spend 3-hours and have unlimited use of all facilities and activities on the island including kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddle board, swimming, snorkeling, volleyball, ping-pong and other island style activities. Showers and changing stalls are provided - bring a towel and swimsuit or purchase supplies at the Gift Shop prior to boarding the bus to the island. The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu

US Army Museum of Hawaii

• Description
  Even before statehood, Hawaii has played a strategic role in the history of the U.S. military. In Battery Randolph at Fort DeRussy in Waikiki, guns, helicopters, and tanks now stand as silent testament to the military story of Hawaii from the ancient Polynesians to Hawaiian royalty and from WWI through Vietnam. Photographs and sound effects create an experience that brings these conflicts to life and gives you a firsthand perspective from the battle lines. Fort DeRussy was built by the Army in 1915 as a coastal defense battery. Thirty-five years later the artillery was disbanded and in 1950, the fort became an Armed Forces Recreation Area. The museum opened its doors in the mid-1970s.

USS Arizona Memorial Audio Tour

• Description
  To better understand and appreciate the events of December 7, 1941, take an audio tour of the USS Arizona Memorial Center. This national award-winning audio tour is narrated by WWII US Navy Veteran and Academy Award Winner Ernest Borgnine and features the voices of many Pearl Harbor survivors. This 1 hour audio tour will take you through the exhibit hall, shore side exhibits, remembrance circle, as well as describe the artifacts of the USS Arizona. The narration continues on the US Navy Boat to the Memorial and on the Memorial itself. The visit to the USS Arizona Memorial will be so much more memorable by adding this program to your visit. All proceeds benefit the Arizona Memorial Museum Association in support of educational and interpretive programs here at this National Park Service Memorial.

USS Bowfin Submarine & Museum

• Description
  Dive into the history of the Silent Service with a tour aboard the Pearl Harbor Avenger, 'USS Bowfin'. Launched on December 7, 1942, one year after the Pearl Harbor attack, Bowfin sank 44 enemy ships during her nine war patrols. Comprising less than 2 percent of the Navy, U. S. submarines accounted for over 55 percent of enemy ships sunk during World War II, while suffering the highest percentage losses, 52 submarines and crews. After boarding the submarine, visit Bowfin's world class submarine museum, and reflect at the water front memorial that tells the stories of the 52 WWII submarines lost. Outside, there are numerous outdoor exhibits to discover. Take a break and chill out under a large covered lanai. The narrated tour explores what life on board must have been like for her 80-man crew. The museum includes an impressive collection of submarine-related artifacts such as submarine weapon systems, photographs, paintings, battle flags, and original recruiting posters.
