One Day or Two Days?

It's your choice and everything can be done on a single day if you prefer. You may, however, schedule your Kennedy Space Center visit over two days and enjoy both a less hectic pace and the ability to spend more time on elements of your tour that interest you most.

PLEASE NOTE: The two days do not have to be consecutive days. The only restriction is that your second day at Kennedy Space Center must occur within 7 days of your first day.

ONE DAY
If you choose to do it all on one day, you should plan to arrive at Kennedy Space Center as it opens at 9:00 am. That way, you will be able to enjoy a number of the Space Center attractions and exhibits before your Lunch with an Astronaut at 12:15 pm. After lunch, you will take your NASA Up-Close bus tour. At the conclusion of that 2-hour tour, you'll be able to enjoy more of the Space Center attractions and then drop by the Astronaut Hall of Fame before it closes at 7:00 pm. It's a very full day, you'll have to be keep on a tight schedule, and you still may not be able to see and do everything you want...but you'll certainly see and do a LOT.

TWO DAYS
If you choose to split up your tour elements over two days, you should plan to do your Lunch with an Astronaut on one day and the NASA Up-Close bus tour on the other day. Scheduling these two elements on different days provides for the greatest flexibility for your visit. You may choose any of the 12 available times (morning through mid-afternoon) to reserve for your Up-Close tour. You will have a great deal more time to see KSC's many attractions and spend extra time on those that interest you most.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER VISITOR COMPLEX ADMISSION TICKET:

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex - located on the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Canaveral, 45 minutes east of Orlando - is open every day of the year, except December 25 and certain launch days. Current operating hours are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Astronaut Hall of Fame is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.

This ticket for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex includes the Kennedy Space Center Tour of NASA's Launch Headquarters, two IMAX films, all shows and exhibits, and a visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. This ticket includes the KSC Bus Tour with a stop at the four-story LC-39 Observation Gantry where you get a bird's eye view of the Space Shuttle launch pads and parts of the world's busiest space launch facility. You'll also stop at the acclaimed Apollo/Saturn V Center, where you will walk beneath a massive Saturn V rocket, relive Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon, and experience the thunderous rumble of a Saturn V moon rocket lift off.

An exciting new addition to the Kennedy Space Center is the Shuttle Launch Experience! It's 3...2...1...LAUNCH as guests take their own vibrant journey of the Space Shuttle's rush to Earth's orbit. On this Shuttle Launch Experience, you will strap-in to the sights, sounds and sensations of launching into space...fully vertical! The journey begins as passengers enter the Shuttle Launch Simulation Facility. As crew members ascend along the gantry, veteran shuttle astronauts share testimonials, setting the stage for the experience to come. Entering the heart of Space Shuttle operations for the pre-launch briefing, crew members are guided by veteran Space Shuttle Commander Charlie Bolden as he takes them step-by-step through the launch sequence. Brilliant video screens spring to life on shuttle-like robotic arms. Anxious moments arise as dramatic atmospheric sound and lighting effects dramatize the moments before launch.

Also included are IMAX movie screenings of "The Dream is Alive," where you experience life in space, or "Space Station 3-D," which takes you on a virtual trip to the International Space Station in a fully immersive big-screen environment.

You may also enjoy the many other shows and exhibits at the Visitor Complex, including a chance to meet a real astronaut at the Astronaut Encounter Show, and enjoy the zany live-action show "Mad Mission to Mars 2025."

Don't forget - your ticket also allows you to visit to the Astronaut Hall of Fame, located at the entrance to the Kennedy Space Center. This attraction features the world's largest collection of personal astronaut mementos, historic spacecraft, one-of-a-kind space legacies, and hands-on activities. You may sit in a mission control console, take a virtual moonwalk, feel the pull of 4 Gs in the G-Force Simulator, and land a Space Shuttle.

LUNCH WITH AN ASTRONAUT:

Seating for lunch begins promptly at 12:15 pm and lunch is served at 12:30 pm. You must specify on the order form the preferred date for your Lunch with an Astronaut.

This is one of the most popular programs at the Kennedy Space Center. Lunch with an Astronaut gives visitors a one-of-a-kind experience to meet a member of NASA's Astronaut Corps and get their autograph.

This event only occurs once daily during lunch hours. These sessions offer an up-close and personal opportunity to share in the excitement of space exploration through the eyes and personal stories of one of NASA's best. All of this while enjoying a delicious meal.

An impressive roster of Astronauts have appeared since the program's inception in 2001, among them Wally Schirra, John Glenn, Jim Lovell, Gene Cernan, Walt Cunningham, Story Musgrave and Jon McBride.

This meal opportunity includes a banquet-style lunch with a speaking appearance by a real Astronaut hero. The popular program includes a fun highlight video of Astronauts living and working in space, a brief oration of the Astronaut's thoughts, and individual time with each family for Q&A and photos. The meal is topped off by a wonderful selection of desserts. You will receive an autographed souvenir to take home.

Each meal is an exclusive opportunity to rub elbows, ask questions, and take pictures with a real Space Hero! And the food is fantastic!

Astronaut schedule subject to change.

Lunch Menu: Mixed Green Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Rotisserie Chicken with Mushroom Sauce, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Vegetable Medley, Rolls and Butter, Dessert, Coffee or Tea.

NASA UP-CLOSE TOUR:

If you will be doing both the Up-Close tour and the Lunch with an Astronaut on the same day, the only time available for your Up-Close tour will be after the lunch event.

If you will be splitting the Up-Close tour and the Lunch with an Astronaut on two days, you may choose any of the available times for your Up-Close tour. You must specify your preferred date and time for the Up-Close tour on the Order Form.

Each guided NASA Up Close tour is narrated by a space program expert, who shares in-depth and often little-known space facts during the 90-minute "mission" past the following areas: Space Shuttle Launch Pads A and B, The International Space Station Center, The Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), Shuttle Landing Facility, Crawler Transporter and Crawlerway. Please note that elements of the NASA Up Close tour duplicate the Kennedy Space Center bus tour that comes with the Visitor Complex Admission Ticket.

You've seen photos of Kennedy Space Center's renowned launch pads. Now, you can visit this special site and more in person during this special interest tour.

Where is the Space Shuttle assembled and launched? How does it land? Where do Astronaut crews prepare and train? These are a few of the questions we'll answer on this intriguing guided tour through NASA's Space Shuttle program.

You'll visit KSC's industrial area to see NASA headquarters, and get the closest possible to the Space Shuttle launch pads. Plus, you'll visit KSC's landing facilities, the massive Vehicle Assembly Building, NASA's gigantic Crawler Transporters and the International Space Station Center, where technicians assemble actual components to be launched into space.
